  • Its styling, lines and considered designed elements stand classic for years to come.
  • It is made from carrara marble and glass and challenges the traditional solid styling of a bathroom sink.
  • His pieces can almost be perceived as an optical illusion through the unique sleek construction of the components and features of a sink.
  • By challenging preconceptions, he has created a work of art in a bathroom sink.

Pressed Juicery

C1 Restaurant - Christchurch New Zealand

  • Pneumatic Menu
  • C1 Restaurant in Christchurch has installed a series of 'food delivery' tubes/pipes which run from the kitchen into the cafe and delivers signature slider dishes comprising of mini burgers and fries to their customers.
  • The tubes travel at 87mph to the tables
  • Metal Cases containing the dishes will be shuttled under the floor and up through the table legs and across the ceilings to avoid the over cluttering of space.
  • By developing a one of a kind idea like this, makes eating/ordering food a new experience. It definitely becomes something that everyone wants to try out because it is so 'out there' and different.
  • It is inspired by the people-shooting tubes in Futurama.

Ka Tron Restaurant Bangkok

Food Printer of the Future

  • The contraption works by storing and cooling a variety of ingredients in the containers on top,
  • The machine works by combining the ingredients layer by layer
  • Users can customize foods and entire meals based on parameters like calories, carbohydrates or fat content.

This Too Shall Pass - Tomorrow Machine

  • Tomorrow's machine's first invention was the Sustainable Expanding Bowl. A biodegradable, cellulose wrapper that fits snugly around freeze-dried foods.
  • However, this newr concept called "this too shall pass" is a package designed to naturally decompose or to dissolve in water.
  • The whole point of the project is to find an alternative to plastic
  • This temporary restaurant. 'IkHa' is the latest creation of oatmeal studio, how were asked to create a temporary interior for the restaurant based on the theme 'Ikea Hack' to coincide with the Nordic Film Festival.
  • It is a dining experience in which the concept of IKEA has been dismantled and translated into a restaurant interior. The visitors are invited to participate and customize their surroundings while dining.
  • It is based on the showroom of IKEA itself. A maze of shelves and rooms to navigate.
  • Visitors can create their table setting from a selection of materials and cut their own tableclth or placement from a selection of wallpapers, ready to measure and cut.
  • One of IKEA's slogans is "big ideas for small spaces,' an important aspect of the IkHa restaurant.
  • Everything is collapsable and fold-able

Chin Chin Labs - Nitrogen Icecream Camden

Bed Brittain: Lighting/Product Designer

  • SHY Light is probably one of my most favourite series she has created. It comprises a triangular network of led tubes and rods.
  • She was inspired by the close study of crystalline forms which is reflected through the thin crisscrossing LED tubes that define the triangular patterns.
  • Because of its unique construction and modular structure, it allows it to be configured in various ways to create a ceiling light or a floor lamp.
  • Her HELIX Light series is comprised of custom brass hardware wrapping around a central support system. What I really like about this series of lights is that it possesses a certain elegance through the sophisticated choice of materials and the balanced geometry created through the lines and structure.
  • Her design process incorporates her unique approach to light. She incorporates the concept of reflection and transparency through her body of work which adds towards her distinctive style as a designer.

Martyna Wedzicka

  • A polish designer has created these business cards that highlights her hands on approach to her projects and her designs in general.

  • These very special business cards, with the aid of laser assisted milling, are made up o fnine micro compositions conssiting of circles and triangles.

Acaia: The minimalist coffee scale

  • It is the only scale designed that monitors the weight, time and flow-rates as you brew coffee.
  • It also comes with an ios app that allows you to perfect and save your best brewing methods.

Sketch London Bathrooms

  • Sketch - 9 Conduit Street, London W1S 2XG
  • The bathrooms at the restaurant sketch is in the form of an egg-shapes cubicle.
  • The decor in the restaurant itself is quite unique in contrasst to the euro-space cool bathrooms as it juxtaposes the old school maid uniforms of the attendants.
  • The bathroom looks almost like a futuristc space ship and it creates an environment that makes you feel as though you have stepped through a portal.

Molecular Gastronomy

  • It is inspired by labs and ateliers with the intention to mak the audience investigate and engage with the process of how to find formulas for beer success.
  • Above the central podium there is a simple infographic explaining and describing how beer is made which is printed on a white transparent sheet.
  • I really like the use of black and white with the beer as the focal point of the exhibition.

JWT Advertising Agency: Cheese Grater

  • Very practical business cards that make it very interesting.
  • The cheese grater business card is specifically very interesting because it can be used as a cheese grater. The multi-purposeful quality of the business card forces them to keep the business card as it could be used for a different purpose as well.

The Kazushi Travel Syphon

  • This travel contraption allows you to brew and drink your gourmet coffee anywhere in the world.
  • This mechanism brews coffee similar to that of a syphon, but compacts it to the size of a simple travel mug.
  • The designer; Dan Walsh found a way to "compress an electric kettle and a coffee siphone into a travel thermos."
  • This ultimately reinvents how coffee can be made and travelled with.

Futuristic Wardrobe

  • Folke Army designed the packaging for the prodjuice company and focused on the beautiful ingredients inside each juice and the layers and natural colours they produce in the bottle.
  • With this idea in mind along with the idea of juices being raw and healthy they created a label design that is slightly more 'infographical' as they wanted the bottle and the juice to be the primary focal point of the overall design. (What is IN the bottle is more important than trying to represent the flavours through imagery)
  • By using the plain white colour, the colour of the juice becomes the primary focal point and brings the juice's colour and identity to the forefront.
  • The simple and minimalistic approach heavily supports this company as it is stripped down to only what is necessary to showcase the quality of the produce.
  • The bottles are also made of glass which adds towards the aesthetic of the bottles and the company as a whole.
  • They are famous for their flying chicken. Their famous fried chickens are set ablaze and launched from a massive catapult at unicycle-riding waiters who catch them on metal skewers.
  • I believe that this proves a great gimmick really can make up for average food as the recipes are often quite normal.
  • This restaurant has been operating for 26 years and almost none have missed their mark.
  • To the TNO (Nederlandse Organisatie voor Toegepast Natuurwetenschappelijk Onderzoek; a dutch research group) food printing could allow humans to 3D print meals specifically tailored to an individual eater.
  • Using historical, physiological data, a food printer could feed you the exact amount of every given nutrient you need.
  • The dutch have been the first to envision this 3D printing food concept and they have already started offering chocolate 3D printed decorations on cakes.
  • Molecular Gastronomy is a culinary trend that borrows techniques from the science lab. By cooking with a pinch of physics and chemistry, chefs can transform the tastes, textures and aesthetic of food.
  • You can create caviar shaped things through a method called basic spherification. It is done by mixing the substance with sodium alginate into a bath of calcium to form a sphere. It transforms into tiny balls that burst in your mouth like fish eggs.

  • Not only are you purchasing a cup of icecream, but the process of making the icecream becomes a somewhat performance.
  • Nitrogen is used for many temperature-related application, it's particularly useful for freezing foods because nitrogen is odorless, colorless, and tasteless.
  • The liquid nitrogen causes the fat and water particles to stay very small, giving icecream its creamy consistency (which makes for a much healthier icecream)
  • I really like the scientific vibes of the store and the store design compliments the concept of their store really well.
  • She is a new york based lighting and product designer driven by a love for luxurious materials, intuitive forms + forward-tinking technology.
  • She works to uncover relationships between normally disparate elements in her design.
  • Evidently throughout the body of her work she utilizes various angles and lines and experiments with the construction of these lines to produce products taht are very minimalistic and futuristic
  • She often has a very clear vision of the concept/aesthetic she wants to achieve and replicate in her product.
  • Her series are often inspired by one particular object which she studies very closely to identify key aspects that make it recognizable.
  • Her design process is lengthy as she draws upon these ideas to create countless structures and models before deciding on a specific way of construction that she feels truly replicates that design.
  • I really like her determination to encapture a specific inspiration within her design whilst still remaining true to her distinctive artistic style that is so intriguing.
  • Stockholm studio Form Us With Love has designed and curated an exhibiition at the city's Spiritmuseum dedicated to the culture of making and drinking beer.
  • Designed for both amateur enthusiasts and seasoned connoisseurs, the exhibition presents simple and in-depth facts about the history, culture and tradition of swedish brewing.
  • "By creating and educative environment, we encourage people to be curious - smelling, feeling and distinguishing ingredients and methods that formulate the many recipes on display.

Acaia Honey Dipper

  • Designer: Miriam Mirri
  • The honey dipper is part of the collection of "Objets-Bijoux"
  • Her studies led her to design an object suitable for use with all different kinds of honey on the market
  • It is evident that she was inspired by the source of honey; the honeycomb giving the spoon the hexagonal shape on the facetted ball.

Josh Renouf's Barisieur

  • The Barisieur is a conceptual design that is very futuristic.
  • It is an alarm clock that doubles as a coffee brewer which eases the user into the day with the subtle movement of the stainless steel ball bearings that boil the water through induction heating.
  • I really like the aesthetic of the product. The really sleek use of glass and steel makes it very futuristic.

Miito Heating Rod

  • It is a innovative product that heats liquids directly in the vessel hence eliminating the heating of excess water.
  • It works by placinf the cup on the induction base and immerse the rod in the liquid.
  • The induction base heats the rod which in turn heats the liquid surrounding it.
  • The simple structure and shape of the rod makes it easy to clean and eliminates any limescale
